Kugelman Law, a San Francisco-based tax and crypto law firm, is seeking an experienced former IRS revenue officer to represent clients in tax controversy matters before the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax law, know the IRS processes and procedures, and experience in handling disputes effectively. Responsibilities include managing client communications, preparing necessary documentation, and negotiating settlements. This is a fully remote position so strong technology skills are required. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with e-filing systems, practice management software, and Google Workspace. **Responsibilities:** Handle tax collection defense, tax resolution, and tax controversy matters while representing clients before the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board Prepare income/expense reconstruction for non-filers Prepare collection financials for individuals and small businesses (433-As/433-Bs) Prepare and review financial documents to determine the best resolution while communicating with all tax agencies necessary Handle sensitive client data with utmost discretion, care, and accuracy **Qualifications:** Former IRS revenue officer or equivalent experience Excellent time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills when dealing directly with clients Demonstrate proficiency to focus on details, handle multiple tasks, and remain highly organized Strong audit, accounting, and analytical skills Experience with cryptocurrency tax compliance preferred, but not required
