Hi! I’m redesigning a front room in our 1890s home. It was originally the master bedroom, and I’m converting it into a multifunctional space that will serve as: • A primary closet (across two walls, using a pre-built system we can customize) • A get-ready space (hair/makeup vanity) • A guest room (exploring a daybed with trundle or Murphy bed — queen size not required) We’re working with a contractor who will handle renovation and installation. I’m looking for a designer who can help me make this space functional, intentional, and serene. ------------------- Current Challenges: • Radiator heat — layout must maintain clearance and function • Existing layout is inefficient: wire shelving, oversized queen bed, and mismatched closet buildouts • The room was de-prioritized when we moved in — now I want to fix that with a well-designed, cohesive plan ------------------- What I’m Looking For: • A clear, thoughtful layout that makes the most of the space • Recommendations for finishes, furniture, and storage that align with a neutral, elevated, minimalist style • Help choosing flooring and decor items I can purchase and install (contractor will handle the build) • A design I can build toward over time — I want to make smart, lasting investments even if it happens in phases If you’ve worked with small spaces, multifunctional layouts, or know how to elevate pre-fab closet systems, I’d love to work with you. This project will also serve as a test run for future room-by-room design throughout the rest of our home. We’re looking to build a trusted relationship with a designer who can support us as we tackle each space over time.
