Job Title: Integration Architect – HL7/DICOM (EPIC & eCW) Location: Remote (EST Time Zone Preferred) Job Type: Full-Time/Contract About Us: We are a middleware system integration company specializing in healthcare interoperability. Our internally developed DICOM HL7 middleware enables seamless communication between various imaging devices and hospital EMR systems. We partner with large-scale hospitals to integrate diagnostic imaging and patient data workflows into EPIC, eClinicalWorks (eCW), and other hospital systems. We are looking for a highly skilled Integration Architect with expertise in HL7 messaging, DICOM protocols, and EMR integration to lead the integration efforts between our middleware and hospital systems. The ideal candidate must be capable of troubleshooting, testing, and supporting integrations with hospitals and imaging device vendors. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Integration & Testing: o Lead the HL7 and DICOM integration between our internally developed middleware and EPIC, eClinicalWorks (eCW), and other EMR/EHR systems. o Ensure smooth data flow and interoperability between hospital systems, imaging devices, and our middleware. o Perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure a seamless workflow. • Technical Leadership: o Act as a technical expert in HL7 (ADT, ORM, ORU, etc.), DICOM (Modality Worklist, Storage, Query/Retrieve, etc.), and EMR system integration. o Work closely with internal development teams, hospital IT teams, and camera vendors to drive integration success. o Guide and support troubleshooting efforts when integration issues arise with hospital systems. o Experience with Topcon Harmony or Zeiss Forum is a big plus. • Support & Troubleshooting: o Provide real-time support for integration-related issues and ensure timely resolution. o Analyze HL7 and DICOM logs to debug and resolve connectivity issues with hospitals. o Coordinate with hospital IT teams to ensure correct data mapping and workflow compliance. • Documentation & Compliance: o Develop detailed technical documentation, including integration specifications, workflows, and troubleshooting guides. o Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HL7, and DICOM standards for secure and effective data exchange. ________________________________________ Required Qualifications & Skills: ✅ 5+ years of experience in HL7, DICOM, and EMR/EHR system integration. ✅ Expertise in HL7 message formats (ADT, ORM, ORU, etc.) and DICOM standards (MWL, Storage, PACS integration). ✅ Hands-on experience with EPIC Bridges, eCW integration, and hospital IT systems. ✅ Strong understanding of middleware architecture and its role in hospital system interoperability. ✅ Ability to troubleshoot HL7 interfaces, DICOM connectivity, and EMR workflows. ✅ Proficiency in tools such as Mirth Connect, HL7 Message Viewers, DICOM tools (DVTk, DCMTK, OsiriX, etc.). ✅ Experience working with camera/imaging device vendors for integration purposes. ✅ Strong problem-solving skills, ability to debug connectivity issues, and effective communication with hospital IT teams. ✅ Located in EST time zone or available during EST business hours for hospital support. ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications: ➕ Experience in AWS, Kubernetes, or cloud-based healthcare infrastructure. ➕ Familiarity with FHIR, RESTful APIs, and modern healthcare data exchange standards. ➕ Knowledge of cybersecurity and HIPAA compliance in healthcare IT systems. ________________________________________ Why Join Us?
