Job Description I'm looking for a skilled book designer to bring my illustrated children's book to life with professional layout and formatting for both print and eBook versions. The manuscript and original illustrations will be provided. What I need is someone who can: • Design a cover (front, back, spine) that complements the artwork and appeals to young readers/parents • Lay out the interior pages in a visually engaging, reader-friendly way • Format the book for both print (likely Amazon KDP or IngramSpark) and eBook (ePub or Kindle) This is a short-to-medium-length children’s book (around 20 pages, full color), and the illustration style is already defined. I’m looking for a designer who can work collaboratively, respects the tone of the story, and ideally familiar with best practices in children’s publishing. Ideal Candidate: • Understands layout for both print and digital formats • Comfortable working with publishing specs • Strong sense of typography, spacing, and visual flow • Responsive, reliable, and open to feedback • Can provide final files in PDF (for print) and ePub/mobi (for eBook) formats • experience designing children’s books a plus To Apply: Please include: • A few samples of previous book layout and/or cover design work (children’s books preferred but not exclusively – understanding print layout/prep is most important) • A brief note about your process and availability • Your rate (hourly or flat rate) and estimated timeline
