Digital Artist to Create Anime-Style Full Color Cover Art for a Scientific Journal Cover

Seeking a skilled digital artist to create a full-color digital cover to be submitted for publication as the cover of a scientific journal. Ideal candidates will be experienced in anime-style cartoon art, including cute animal characters, and will ideally have some knowledge or interest in science and some familiarity with scientific publications. The journal is called “Animal Models and Experimental Medicine,” and the article we published is called "Improved husbandry measures to enhance reproducibility of wound healing studies in the Leprdb/db mouse.” It can be found here: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ame2.70010. The main point of the article is about improving care of a specific kind of laboratory mouse, which is larger than average and needs extra space. The journal selected us to submit artwork for consideration to be the cover of the print edition featuring our publication. Traditionally, their covers are beautiful full-color animated artwork with some symbolic connection to the featured article. I have included 3 examples below! We are hoping to create a cover that is visually beautiful and colorful, which features very cute cartoon versions of the mice with some symbolism to show the value of providing them with specialized care. We envision a comic-book style cover with two contrasting panels, with one showing mice living in a home that's too small (ideally w/ some cute/funny imagery such as them being stuck in a doorway, can't fit their hands into the cabinets, etc.) and then a corresponding panel showing a mouse looking happy and comfortable in a larger home that's the appropriate size/proportions and not as crowded. We’d like to make this extremely cute and animated and convey the importance of appropriately tailored husbandry for the well-being of the mice and the positive outcomes in the studies.
