Complete building a WordPress website

SUMMARY We need someone complete construction of a website - details below. I can share what has been done and explain details. In addition to completing the work outlined below I would appreciate advice and suggestions on how to improve the dsign and functionality. I would like to start with phone (video) call in which we can make sure we have a good understanding the the work needed. After that most communication via email should be fine. BACKGROUND Our current site (historictakoma.org) was designed and built as a class team project by students at University of Maryland. They did not start with a Wordpress theme, but built from scratch following a design we gave them. They did a tremendous job of documentation including a style manual, and taught me how to add some basic content and update some things. So I have a reasonable sense of how to work in WordPress. However, there are some formatting and related issues that I don't have the skills to address and there are a number design and functionality aspects that we'd like to change now that we've used the site for a few years. We looked at some sites and found features and designs we liked. I found a WP theme that was close and contacted a freelancer through Fiverr to do some modifications. He ended up saying the theme could not be modified and built some pages per my specifications. In general it's fine but not complete. He seems to have created the pages in Elementor, which looks like it works much like WordPress - but I'm not sure exactly. CURRENT SITUATION I have the pages he designed loaded into a subdomain (2025.historictakoma.org) on our hosting service. He moved much of the current site to that subdomain as well, so it appears the various plug ins, etc. we use are there. So, I am looking for assistance with: - completing the page designs - adding some pages (particularly two blog pages - which I can explain) - learning how to make style changes efficiently (like fonts, colors) - an overall review of design and approach, optimizing, security, etc. - reviewing our plug ins and looking at what can be done to improve operation of the site - learning how to deal with comments on posts - integrating things like Square and social media (FB, IG, BS) - migrating content from the current site Once we get things properly organized we need to be able to add/modify content ourselves (which I am fairly confident about doing) and work with you (or someone) from time to time on updating design and features.
