We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Windows Infrastructure Engineer or BizTalk Administrator with a specialized focus on troubleshooting MSDTC (Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator) transaction failures in complex, multi-server environments. This role is critical in ensuring the stability and reliability of our mission-critical applications, particularly those involving BizTalk Server and SQL Server. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of distributed transactions, security configurations, and networking requirements, and will be adept at utilizing diagnostic tools and log analysis to quickly identify and resolve intermittent issues. MSDTC Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve intermittent MSDTC transaction failures in multi-server BizTalk and SQL Server environments. Utilize diagnostic tools such as DTCPing, DTCTester, and Event Viewer to pinpoint root causes. Analyze logs across multiple systems to identify patterns and troubleshoot complex issues. Implement and maintain optimal MSDTC security configurations. Proactively monitor system performance and identify potential MSDTC-related issues. BizTalk Administration (If Applicable): Administer and maintain BizTalk Server environments. Troubleshoot BizTalk application issues and performance bottlenecks. Deploy and configure BizTalk applications and orchestrations. Monitor BizTalk message flow and ensure system stability. Windows Infrastructure Management: Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server environments. Manage Active Directory, DNS, and other core Windows services. Implement and maintain security best practices. Perform system updates and patching. Networking & Security: Understand and troubleshoot network connectivity issues related to MSDTC. Implement and maintain firewall rules and security policies. Ensure proper network configuration for distributed transactions. Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation of troubleshooting procedures and solutions. Provide regular reports on system performance and issue resolution. Document all configuration changes. Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Windows infrastructure administration or BizTalk administration. Proven experience troubleshooting MSDTC transaction failures in complex, multi-server environments. Strong understanding of BizTalk Server and SQL Server architecture. Experience with network troubleshooting and security configurations. Technical Skills: Expertise in MSDTC configuration and troubleshooting. Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as DTCPing, DTCTester, and Event Viewer. Strong log analysis skills across multiple systems. Deep understanding of Windows Server operating systems. Familiarity with BizTalk Server administration (if applicable). Strong knowledge of SQL Server. Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls). Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong documentation skills. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA) are highly preferred.
