Project Engineer - Network Migration (Cisco to Arista)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to lead a critical network migration project. This project involves being "hands-on" with the transition from legacy Cisco switches to Arista switches across 19 global sites. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and efficient migration, adhering to Arista's reference designs and operational requirements. Technical Implementation: Perform detailed network assessments and develop migration plans. Configure Arista switches and related network devices according to Arista’s reference designs. Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues during and after the migration. Document all configuration changes and migration procedures. Validate network performance and functionality post-migration. Coordination and Communication: Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including progress reports and issue resolution. Coordinate with global site contacts to ensure smooth execution of the migration. Manage and track project timelines and milestones. Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and migration plans. Provide regular status reports and updates to project stakeholders. Document lessons learned and best practices for future migrations. Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in network engineering and project coordination. Proven experience in large-scale network migrations, preferably involving Cisco to Arista transitions. Strong understanding of Arista’s SDN platform and reference designs. Experience with global network deployments. Technical Skills: Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Arista switches and related network devices. Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLAN, routing protocols). Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools. Experience with scripting and automation is a plus. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.   Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.   Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Arista certifications, CCNA, CCNP) are preferred.
