We’re looking to hire an engineer or small prototyping team to help us develop a simple, motorized version of our flagship product which is a patented giant turntable for photography. This turntable is 10 feet in diameter and designed for commercial use in photo and video production. We want a low-profile motorized system that: • Can rotate a loaded platform (up to 1500 lbs) at ~0.5 RPM • Is tool-free and easy to assemble by the end user • Uses a belt drive or friction drive to rotate the platform • Includes a simple remote with three functions: o Continuous rotation on/off o Auto 5-degree steps with 4-second pauses o Manual 5-degree steps (button press to rotate) • Runs on standard 120V AC wall power Preferred Setup (but open to smart ideas!) • User lays down the turntable • Screws or clicks the motor module into place • Loops a belt or friction band around the platform • Plugs in and starts using it Ideal timeline: 6–8 weeks for a working prototype Bonus Points If: • You're located in Colorado (we’re in Boulder) and can meet or test in person — not required! • You’ve worked on turntables, robotics, automation, or photo/video gear before Please send: • A short message with your experience • Examples of similar projects (if any) • Your rough thoughts on how you’d approach this • Estimated quote and timeline for prototype
