The Role We're looking for a Senior Search Engineer to join our founding team and help build our MVP ahead of launch. Experience with search is essential, particularly Elasticsearch, and familiarity with eCommerce platforms like Shopify is a plus. We're looking for someone with true entrepreneurial spirit—curious, driven, and excited to create what doesn't yet exist. This is an opportunity to help build something from the ground up, have a piece of the pie, and play a key role in shaping the next game-changer in enterprise technology for retail eCommerce. Responsibilities Will Consist Of • Designing and developing a clean and simple MVP • Building color search features API • Building API for cataloging and color classification • Architecting scalable and flexible search infrastructure • Researching and implementing smart integration pathways for various eCommerce platforms • Defining our technical roadmap • Partnering with the founding team on overall product direction Core Requirements • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field • Experience with Elasticsearch and search infrastructure development • Strong API design and development skills • Experience with scalable cloud-based architectures • Startup experience, especially in early-stage environments • Comfortable making strategic technical decisions in ambiguous environments • Ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges • Can translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders Important Secondary Skills • Experience with AI/ML integration into search systems • Familiarity with color classification approaches • Experience with eCommerce platforms • Experience building and leading engineering teams Nice To Have • Specific knowledge of HSV/HSB color space for visual recognition • Deep expertise in computer vision • Track record of successful product launches • Experience with MLOps and production ML systems • Strong network in the technical community for hiring *PLEASE NOTE that this role requires prior experience in search technologies, as we are currently looking for a specialist with a very specific skill set.
