Description: We are looking for an experienced curriculum designer to help create a template and roadmap for students (ages 14-21) to design their own Mentorship Pathway Program (MPP) curriculum. The goal is for students to take ownership of the MPP and design a curriculum that reflects their career aspirations in real estate, nursing, entrepreneurship, HVAC, and fashion design, which they will implement for the 2025-2026 school year. The MPP will engage students through mentorship, leadership, skill-building activities, and field trips, and your role will be to create a framework that guides students to design the program for themselves. The school year curriculum will be hosted Monday-Thursday after school for 1.5-2 hours per day, beginning October 2025. Key Responsibilities: Design a Curriculum Template: Develop a comprehensive curriculum template that guides students in building out all 3 phases of the program (Explore/Engage, Test/Learn, and Career Launch). Phase 1: Explore/Engage (July 7th - July 17th, 2025): Design activities to help students explore each of the 5 career pathways through research, guest speakers, and field experiences. Ensure the curriculum includes setting academic goals, building leadership skills, mental wellness activities, and engaging with mentors. Phase 2: Test/Learn (July 21st - August 1st, 2025): Create activities that allow students to apply their knowledge through hands-on experiences. Students will participate in weekly workshops with professional mentors, practice leadership by mentoring peers, and create career plans with guidance. Phase 3: Career Launch (August 3rd - August 7th, 2025): Develop activities focused on preparing students for their future careers, including resume building, mock interviews, job applications, and internship preparation. Include hands-on activities and workshops for real-world career exploration. Program Framework: Design a clear, structured roadmap for students to create their program’s activities, guest speaker line-ups, field trips, and daily schedules. Age-Appropriate Design: Ensure the activities and the curriculum are adaptable for ages 14-21, with activities suitable for all students but adjustable in complexity for different age groups (e.g., simplifying activities for younger students while challenging older ones). Daily Schedules and Activities: Develop a template for daily schedules that balances learning, mentorship, engagement, and recreation. Refer to the attached MPP 2025 Daily Schedule for timing and structure. Collaborate with NBC Mentors: Work closely with NBC staff and mentors to ensure the curriculum is aligned with the program’s goals and student needs. Required Skills: Experience in curriculum design for youth programs, particularly for ages 14-21. Familiarity with career exploration programs and mentorship initiatives. Ability to create a structured, easy-to-follow roadmap for students to follow while designing their own curriculum. Strong skills in activity development that are both educational and engaging for different age groups. Ability to create activities and workshops related to career planning, leadership, entrepreneurship, and professional development. Understanding of how to integrate real-world experiences into a curriculum, including field trips, guest speakers, and career exploration. Timeline: The curriculum design needs to be completed by May 23, 2025 with ongoing adjustments and refinements throughout the summer. Weekly collaboration with the team to ensure the roadmap aligns with student needs and the program's goals. Budget: $1,850
