Economist - impact of Age Advantage Bridge Program - incorporating older people workplace


My name is Sundas Jamil. I am a business owner and founder of Ageism Awareness Hub (an advocacy organization for age discrimination in the workplace). My formal education is in the field of Applied Science/Public Health with an MBA in Healthcare Administration. I started Ageism Awareness Hub (AAH) after discovering, during the hiring process for my retail businesses, the widespread incidence of age discrimination that occurs in workplaces which hinders the employment and retention of older aged employees. In an effort to help businesses acquire and retain older workers (which benefits the organization, workers, economy, government and society) I developed the Age Advantage Bridge. The Age Advantage Bridge is a comprehensive consultation program for businesses which starts with an in-depth analysis of the workplace culture, attitudes towards older employees, physical environment, training programs, workplace efficiency and business goals. Through analyzing the business with the help of occupational safety professionals, HR consultants, and other relevant expertise individuals, a program is developed to help an organization solve its labor shortage by hiring or retaining a very valuable and willing to work segment of society, older Americans! The hiring of older Americans who are willing and able to work will not only alleviate the pressure on businesses to fill labor shortages but also play a significant role in increasing the depleting Social Security revenues, Medicaid Program, and the economic health of the country. We have been training many local and statewide businesses on age discriminatory practices to avoid in the workplace and the benefits of building intergenerational teams. I am looking for an economist who can create a report showing the national importance of hiring and retaining older individuals in the workplace. I'm looking for some analysis on the potential financial benefits to the government (especially programs such as social security and Medicaid) and economy (GDP etc.) as a whole if older people were given the opportunity to work into their retirement years. I would also like to show the positive financial impact it would have on different industries in the USA (healthcare, retail, etc.) if they were able to fill their labor shortages with this segment.
