POSITION DESCRIPTION The Design Manager, Brand Development, reports to the Director, Brand Development, at Arax Investment Partners, a financial services holding company based in New York City. The Arax team serves stakeholders at three partner wealth management verticals across the Arax ecosystem, Arax Advisory Partners (~$4B AUM), Ashton Thomas Private Wealth (~$9B AUM and AUA), and U.S. Capital Wealth (~$9B AUM and AUA). The Brand Development team functions as a branding, marketing, and communications agency delivering digital marketing, content, creative, brand strategy, and related solutions to the three verticals and to financial advisors within those verticals. There is one direct report into this position, a Design Consultant. The position can be based in Scottsdale, Arizona, or can be remote depending on candidate’s location. The particular responsibilities of the Design Manager, Brand Development, role are: - Top Priority Design and Layout Project Lead o Serve as lead design and layout resource for top priority content development and delivery: examples include pitchbooks for top advisor and high-net-worth client prospects, C-suite and investors presentations, and acquisition announcements on social platforms o Ensure the highest attention to standard, adherence to brand standards, and introduction of best-in-class ideas are applied to such projects - Design and Layout Project Oversight o Take design and layout initiatives from concept to implementation, including presentations, social content, firm collateral, and related o Understand vision and execution requirements for deliverables and ensure end product meets or exceeds expectations o Oversee all design and layout projects across multiple brands, including resource allocation, in coordination with Operations Manager, Brand Administration o Work comfortably in design and business suite software as needed to deliver best-in-class end products o Ensure adherence to brand guidelines on all deliverables across all brands - Vendor Coordinator o For creative agency, print, and other related vendors, oversee creative process from start to finish, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines o Interface with Operations Manager in holding vendors accountable to timelines, deliverables, and budget requirements o Assist Director in assessing and identifying new vendors and resources as needed - Oversight of Design Consultant(s) In support of the above functions… o Manage daily/weekly responsibilities and workflow of Design Consultants assigned to the team o Ensure Design Consultant is set up for success in all critical deliverables of the role o Oversee Design Consultant training, accountability, KPIs Key Success Factors: - Possesses an eye for detail, particularly with regard to luxury or elevated brands - Listens to and understands project requirements, with ability to offer constructive input - Demonstrates professional and functional maturity, creating confidence among stakeholders - Substantial creative experience with a deep understanding of modern design and layout apps - Ability to take complex processes and reduce them to simple visual concepts - Adept at discovering functional best practices and applying them effectively in day-to-day settings - Quickly and effectively prioritizes work assigned while assuring necessary attention to detail This is a mission-critical, high-visibility role within a rapidly growing, national wealth management ecosystem. Professionalism, commitment to follow-through, and attention to detail are crucial for success. Must be well organized with an ability to deliver consistent quality in a timely manner is essential. Established knowledge of and experience with all facets of graphic design, layout, and static visual content. Prior experience working in a creative agency or with a high-end consumer-facing brand is strongly preferred. Knowledge of financial services and/or wealth management (or a similarly regulated industry) would be a plus. Must be a master user of Adobe Creative Cloud apps like InDesign and Illustrator, as well as PowerPoint. Canva experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with a project management tool, such as Monday.com, would be helpful. Minimum of eight (8) years of high-level operations or administrative experience in an internal branding, marketing and communications, creative agency, or high-end consumer brand setting. Must be able to pass a background check and maintain a good reputation within the industry and community. KEY SKILLS • Degree in Design, Art, or related field preferred • Must be a “super user” of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and PowerPoint • Experience in any of the following would be helpful: Canva, WordPress, Figma • Familiarity with omnichannel marketing/CMS platforms like Zoho or Hubspot would be a plus • Experience with Monday.com or a similar project management platform helpful • Attention to detail is indispensable • Ability to understand and implement a brand voice across a range of applications required • Must be proficient in time and task management KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS On Time: consistently deliver services and solutions in a timely manner On Target: consistently deliver services and solutions that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations On Brand: consistently deliver services and solutions that meet brand standards On Budget: consistently deliver services and solutions in a cost-effective manner COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This is a temp-to-hire position. Six-month contract opportunity with an option to extend or convert to a permanent employee role if all parties are satisfied. Benefits not provided to independent consultants.
