We are seeking a consultant with experience in biomedical optics to advise on the design of a miniaturized optical probe. The primary goal is to develop a configuration that allows the optical beam to be rotated and potentially pulled back, while maintaining the slimmest possible profile. We are exploring design options such as angled cleaved fiber tips, GRIN lenses, micro-prisms, and MEMS-based beam steering technologies. We’re looking for insight into the optical and mechanical trade-offs involved, and guidance on how to optimize beam direction and output while fitting within strict size constraints. Ideal candidates will have experience in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) probe design, catheter or endoscopic imaging systems, and knowledge of micro-optic assembly or fiber-based scanning mechanisms. If you’ve worked on similar compact optical systems and can provide strategic design input, we’d love to connect for an initial discussion
