Game developer needed: 1 level 16-bit beat 'em up style demo

I'm in the early stages of planning the design and development of a single level game demo in the style of Streets of Rage, Altered Beast, etc...16-bit or 8-bit styled game. Looking for examples of previous work similar to this and what information you would need from me to execute this, preferably in an existing format you use with clients.
