We’re seeking a technically strong Delivery Lead / BI Engineer who thrives at the intersection of data, engineering, and business. This is a high-impact role supporting enterprise analytics initiatives for a Fortune 500 client. Ideal for an independent consultant, the role requires someone who can deeply engage with data systems and communicate clearly with business stakeholders to turn strategy into execution. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities ● Partner with business and IT teams to align BI efforts with strategic priorities ● Act as a bridge between product managers, business users, and engineers ● Translate business requirements into technical user stories and data solutions ● Write and optimize SQL queries (BigQuery preferred) to validate and analyze data ● Design data models and testing protocols to ensure data accuracy and integrity ● Build and maintain dashboards in tools like Looker, surfacing actionable insights ● Collaborate with project managers on delivery plans, budgets, and timelines ● Participate in Agile delivery cycles, including sprint planning and reviews ________________________________________ Required Skills & Qualifications ● Proficiency in SQL (BigQuery strongly preferred) ● Experience with Looker (or similar tools like Tableau, Power BI) ● Understanding of Python for data manipulation and automation is a plus ● Ability to analyze, interpret, and validate complex data sets ● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—can translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences ● Skilled at requirements gathering, business analysis, and stakeholder alignment ● Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments ● Proven ability to manage deliverables independently while collaborating across teams ________________________________________ Ideal Candidate Attributes ● Comes from a technical/engineering background with hands-on experience ● Able to bridge technical depth with business insight—not just extract data, but understand its value ● Comfortable writing user stories, creating dashboards, and interacting with cross-functional teams ● Self-directed and resourceful, with long-term commitment potential ● Interested in a contract-to-hire path with a growing enterprise team ________________________________________ This is a full-time contract role with flexible terms and strong potential for extension.
