Project: Development of a functional prototype for the Dynamic Foot Pump Assessment System (DFPAS) — a smart insole designed to counteract venous return loss and circulatory issues in microgravity. ⸻ About the Role: We’re looking for a hands-on hardware-software integration expert with experience in biomedical devices, wearable sensor systems, and embedded AI applications to bring our conceptual design into a working prototype. You’ll work directly with the founders (First Empire Holdings) and contribute to a project with real-world spaceflight and clinical applications. ⸻ Key Responsibilities: • Develop and integrate insole-embedded pressure and motion sensors • Program real-time data capture and transmission via wireless protocol (e.g., BLE) • Create AI-based feedback algorithms that detect inactivity and trigger user prompts • Collaborate with designers and ISS system experts for compatibility • Support testing protocols in simulated microgravity environments ⸻ Preferred Skills: • Background in biomedical, mechatronics, or electrical engineering • Experience with MEMS sensors, accelerometers, and microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, ESP32) • Familiarity with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication • Knowledge of AI model integration in embedded systems (TinyML, Edge AI, etc.) • Prototyping using CAD, 3D printing, and flexible materials for wearable devices ⸻ Bonus: • Experience with NASA analog testing programs or space health projects • Prior work in clinical or rehabilitation tech
