We are a large business seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in SD-WAN, VLANs, Fortigate firewalls, and general network reconfiguration. Currently, we use VeloClouds but are looking to drastically reduce costs by leveraging our existing Fortigate firewalls, which have built-in SD-WAN capabilities, but are not currently being utilized. The ideal candidate will be a very experienced Network Engineer who can step into our environment, reconfigure and optimize our network setup, and ensure everything runs smoothly, securely, and cost-effectively. You should have proven experience with SD-WAN technologies, specifically Fortigate, as well as experience in VLAN configurations, network optimization, and troubleshooting complex networking issues. Key Responsibilities: - Network Audit & Assessment: Review the current network setup (VeloCloud and Fortigate firewalls) and identify areas for optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement. - Reconfiguration of Network Architecture: Reconfigure and optimize the network to leverage Fortigate SD-WAN capabilities, replacing the current VeloCloud solution. - VLAN Setup: Configure and implement appropriate VLANs based on business needs and best practices for network performance and security. - Integration: Ensure smooth integration of all systems, devices, and network infrastructure to ensure a seamless transition and minimal disruption to business operations. - Security Best Practices: Utilize Fortigate firewalls for secure network configurations, implement best security practices, and troubleshoot any network security issues. - Documentation & Reporting: Provide clear, thorough documentation of the new network setup, configurations, and recommendations for future improvements. - Training and Support: Offer basic training and knowledge transfer to the internal team on the new setup, and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting during the transition period. Required Skills & Qualifications: - Extensive experience with SD-WAN technologies (preferably Fortigate SD-WAN). - Deep knowledge of networking concepts, including VLAN configuration, IP addressing, routing, and network security protocols. - Hands-on experience with Fortigate firewalls, including advanced configuration and troubleshooting. - Proven experience in network reconfiguration and optimization, including moving from a legacy solution like VeloCloud/TPX to a more efficient, cost-effective setup. - Strong understanding of network security, VPNs, and remote access technologies. - Expertise in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving complex networking issues. - Ability to work independently and lead the project with minimal supervision. - Excellent communication skills to document and explain configurations and provide knowledge transfer to the internal team. Preferred Skills: - Certifications such as CCNP, Fortigate NSE, or other relevant network certifications. - Experience with other SD-WAN solutions and network automation tools. - Experience working in large enterprise environments with complex networking setups. Project Duration: This is a project-based role with an expected duration of several months to complete the network reconfiguration and optimization. Ongoing support may be required after the initial project is completed.
