Shopify Flow Expert Needed to Automate Backorder & Credit Card Authorization Workflow

Description: We're looking for an experienced Shopify Flow contractor to help us solve a key issue in our order fulfillment process. We currently experience a high volume of backorders — orders placed for items not currently in stock. The challenge is that the credit card authorization often expires before the inventory becomes available. Our current system doesn’t account for this, so some orders are being fulfilled without valid payment authorization, resulting in lost revenue. Your Task: We need you to build an automation using Shopify Flow (or recommend a better app-based solution) that will: Check for expired credit card authorizations on any backorder. Prevent fulfillment of orders with expired authorizations. Alert our team (or the customer) when re-authorization is needed. Ideally, help us build in a re-authorization request flow if possible. Requirements: Proven experience with Shopify Flow Familiarity with Shopify Payments and credit card authorization behavior Ability to suggest and implement custom workflows or app-based solutions Experience working with order fulfillment, backorder logic, and payment automation Bonus: Familiarity with tools like Shopify Scripts, Shopify Plus, or external payment processors Project Scope: Review current flow and business logic Recommend a solution (Shopify Flow or third-party) Implement the automation Test the flow with real scenarios Provide documentation and basic training for our team About Us: We operate two fashion Shopify stores and regularly deal with backordered items due to supply chain realities.
