We’re looking for an experienced data engineer or data wrangler to help us quickly clean, standardize, and expand an Excel-based dataset in preparation for migration into a new ERP system. The project involves normalizing color codes, expanding product-color combinations using a reference tab, merging descriptions, and handling some special formatting rules. You'll be working with two tabs from the same workbook — one containing the core data and another containing reference values. Deliverables: One cleaned and completed Excel or CSV file with: One row per unique item, part number, and color combination Correct application of reference-based color expansions Merged and standardized descriptions Preserved structure and integrity of non-transformed columns Special logic applied for certain exceptions (e.g., unique color codes and part variants) Requirements: Strong experience with Excel data processing, Python (Pandas), or other ETL tools Ability to understand and execute transformation logic based on written specs Fast turnaround — we are looking to complete this within 1–2 days Bonus: Familiarity with manufacturing or ERP-related data workflows Experience with Excel formula automation or scripting Please include examples of similar data transformation work in your proposal. We will provide the Excel file and a detailed written brief upon acceptance.
