Who We Are A leading M&A advisory firm in the senior housing and care space is seeking a financial analyst to support our investment sales team. We’ve built a strong reputation on transparency, attention to detail, and relentless follow-through—and we need someone who can bring that same mindset to how we handle financial data. What This Role Is (and Isn’t) This is not a modeling-from-scratch job or a role that requires deep industry knowledge upfront. We have a refined Excel-based model and step-by-step training videos ready for you. Your main job is to take messy, unstructured financials from senior housing operators (PDFs, spreadsheets, scanned docs, handwritten notes) and turn them into clean, organized, mapped financial models. Over time, if you grow with us, you’ll help apply assumptions, interpret market data, and even shape proforma projections—but that’s not the expectation at the start. What You’ll Do • Input and map operator financials into our model, structuring them across the past 3 years, T12, and an in-place column • Adjust financials for known changes (e.g., Medicaid rate increases, staffing shifts) to create “in-place” performance comparisons • Normalize revenue and expenses by stripping out non-recurring or owner-related items and including necessary add-backs (e.g., management fees) • Follow guidance from our Investment Sales Directors to apply proforma assumptions (over time, you may help develop these assumptions yourself) • Crosscheck values using industry comps, benchmarks, and logic • Communicate with clients to request missing info, clarify unclear submissions, and ensure we have complete data • Stay organized when working with large files, PDFs, scanned documents, or handwritten materials • Conduct market research as needed—including identifying referral sources, analyzing competitor occupancy and rates, demographic trends, and local market dynamics What We’re Looking For • 1–3+ years of experience as a financial analyst or similar role • Strong Excel skills (index/match, sumifs, pivot tables, formatting, logical structure) • Highly organized and detail-oriented • Able to follow clear instructions and maintain consistency in formatting and data flow • Comfortable working with messy or unstructured data • Strong communication skills when clarification is needed • Experience conducting basic market research (pulling competitor data, analyzing sources, or local demographics) is a plus • Curious and eager to grow—this role could expand into a full-time position Required to Apply Attach a sample spreadsheet or financial model you’ve worked on that shows how you cleaned, organized, or structured financial data. This will be a key part of the evaluation process.
