Graphic Designer needed for Instructional Materials in InDesign

We are seeking skilled page-design contractors to create student workbooks and instructor manuals in Adobe InDesign for high school and middle school students. Expert level proficiency with InDesign, familiar with InDesign templates, text variables, master pages and creating error free documents. We have several courses in the development pipeline and are looking to line up designers who will be ready to hit the ground running once we reach the design stage for development. The copy for each course will have already been developed. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the material from the source file (usually a Google Doc, but sometimes an older InDesign file or a PDF) and laying it out in Adobe InDesign. Most aspects of the workbooks are templated, so many of the larger design decisions have already been made. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying out the pages, finding appropriate images via Adobe Stock and creating occasional graphics, charts, maps and the like. Each unit is approximately 50-75 pages long and there are five units per course. Some courses include a course reader (a textbook equivalent) which can range in length from 100 to 400 pages. The completed product will be delivered to us as a packaged Adobe InDesign file. The pay scale is per project and can range from $1,500 depending on the course design size. Typically projects extend over 2weeks-4weeks. However our immediate need requires a 48hr turnaround. Please include samples of your design work as part of your application. Must-have qualifications Technical skills: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign. You must also provide your own access to the current version of Adobe InDesign. Attention to detail: Ability to produce consistent and error-free instructional materials. Creative problem-solving skills: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to instructional challenges. Communication skills: Excellent written communication skills in English (although we have foreign language courses where additional fluency is desired). The ability to collaborate effectively using Google Meet. Project management skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
