Job Title: Construction Budget & KPI Financial Model (Excavation/Dirt Work Industry) Description: We’re seeking a financial modeling expert with a strong grasp of budgeting and performance tracking for construction businesses, preferably someone with firsthand experience in excavation, site prep, or dirt work. We have an existing budget spreadsheet in Google Sheets that was partially completed by a previous freelancer. Most of the foundational work is done, but the KPI tracking portion still needs to be finalized. Additionally, we’re interested in building out a job costing model that could integrate with our estimating spreadsheets in the future. Key Deliverables: Finalize and implement formulas for critical construction KPIs and financial tracking, including: Breakeven Amount Revenue Per Day to Reach Sales Goal Production Days to Break Even Man Hour Cost and Man Hour Price Overhead Recovery Markups (labor, equipment, material) Overhead Recovery Rate Profit Per Job and Per Day Revenue Per Man-Hour Gross Margin % Daily Cost of Equipment Ownership Ensure the sheet is dynamic and scalable — formulas must update as data is added or removed. Integrate inputs from various data sources (revenue, payroll, equipment costs). Organize and format for clarity and usability across a small internal team. Build or prepare for a job costing system that could integrate with our estimating sheets. What We’re Looking For: Experience in financial modeling and budgeting (ideally in construction or skilled trades) Ability to translate real-world cost structures into clean spreadsheet logic Strong spreadsheet skills (Google Sheets preferred) Bonus: Familiarity with job costing, estimating processes, and cost recovery best practices in construction Please include examples of similar work you’ve completed, especially in construction or contractor industries.
