We are seeking an experienced GitLab Consultant to perform an upgrade of our GitLab server to version 17 or greater. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT, with a strong background in Linux administration and a deep understanding of GitLab. This is an urgent requirement, and the consultant should be available to start immediately. Responsibilities: Perform a comprehensive upgrade of the GitLab server to version 17 or greater. Clone the existing GitLab server and use the cloned server for the upgrade process. Apply necessary security patches and address any OS issues on the server. Verify the upgrade and ensure the server is functioning optimally post-upgrade. Collaborate with the team to schedule and announce the upgrade process. Provide documentation and support for the upgrade process. Requirements: 10+ years of experience in IT. 10+ years of experience using and administering Linux. Strong knowledge of Linux systems and command-line tools. Deep understanding of GitLab, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. Proven experience in performing major upgrades of GitLab servers. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to GitLab and Linux systems. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the team. Availability to start immediately. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Linux backup procedures. Experience with VMware virtual environments. Familiarity with security patching and OS upgrades. Previous experience working with NextFlex or similar organizations.
