Rooted Impact is growing—and thoughtful, high-quality content is a core part of how we connect with our audience and amplify our mission. With a digital workshop launching in June and a signature website design program for nonprofits debuting this fall, we’re building a marketing system that informs, inspires, and drives real results. I’m Caitlin, founder of Rooted Impact, and I’m looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Virtual Marketing Assistant to help bring that system to life. This role is ideal for someone who loves creating content with purpose—blog posts, emails, social media, and digital assets that make a difference for grassroots nonprofits. The ideal candidate is an experienced writer and content marketer who can match our brand voice, produce value-driven content, and handle the behind-the-scenes details that keep our marketing engine running. You should be confident publishing in WordPress, have a strong eye for design, and be excited to support a mission-driven brand that helps nonprofits grow their visibility and impact. Hours & Availability: - Remote, part-time contract role (25–35 hours per month) - Initial 3-month contract with the option to extend based on mutual fit - Start date: June 2025 - Hourly Rate: $35–$45/hr USD Core Monthly Deliverables/Responsibilities: - Four blog posts written or repurposed from outlines and published on WordPress - Four email newsletters formatted and scheduled in Kit (formerly ConvertKit) - Eight to ten social media posts created and scheduled (Instagram and Facebook) - Fifteen to twenty Pinterest pins designed and scheduled - Support creation and promotion of lead magnets (landing pages, opt-ins, graphics) - Provide light website updates or formatting assistance (homepage copy, layout tweaks, etc.) - Track and report on list growth and content performance (basic metrics) - Proofread all content for grammar, clarity, and brand consistency - Participate in weekly check-ins (30 minutes) - Collaborate on content ideas and repurposing strategies as needed - Support program launch periods (pre-launch content, emails, light tech setup or testing) Note: These monthly goals serve as a guide to ensure consistency and momentum, not a rigid checklist. Key Skills & Characteristics: - Strong, strategic writer with a sharp eye for detail - Confident using WordPress and able to make simple design/layout tweaks - Able to quickly understand an ideal customer avatar and write directly to their needs - Organized, self-directed, and communicates clearly in a remote environment - Familiar with list-building strategies and course marketing workflows - Comfortable managing weekly content rhythms with minimal oversight - Solid design eye with experience creating graphics in Canva - Resourceful, proactive, and a great problem solver - Adaptable to shifting priorities and committed to follow-through - Interested in growing with a mission-driven business that values creativity and clarity Required Tools & Experience: - 2 years of experience in a marketing assistant, content creator, or digital support role - Experience publishing and editing content in WordPress Proficiency with: - Email marketing platforms (Kit or similar) - Canva - Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest - Social media scheduling tools (Metricool or similar) - Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) - Project management software (experience with Airtable, Trello, Asana or similar) - Understanding of content marketing principles and basic SEO best practices - Experience supporting program or course launches, lead magnet funnels, or list-building campaigns - Bonus: familiarity with nonprofits, social impact brands, digital education, and/or Meta Advertising Application Instructions: If you'd like to be considered for this role, please send your resume and cover letter and answer the two screening questions.
