Job Overview:
I'm the author of The Dancer’s Edge, a powerful book and workbook created for passionate young dancers ages 8-25, and their support systems (teachers, studio owners, and parents). This book blends mindset development, dance technique insights, and career-building tools to help dancers take ownership of their artistry and training. I’ve combined 25yrs of working as a professional dancer, choreographer and actress into this book to help dancers along their dance journey. I've personally built relationships with studios, shared the book during teacher classes, promoted it on social media, and reached thousands of dancers directly through my teaching. Despite this, sales have plateaued. I’m looking for an experienced marketing professional who can help me scale this mission and reach my revenue goal of $50,000 in book sales this year (I’ve currently generated $4,000). This is where you come in. Who I'm Looking For:
A strategic, self-driven marketer with experience in digital product sales, particularly in the dance, education, or personal development space. You understand how to position and promote a niche product, and you know how to convert warm audiences into customers. Deliverables & Goals: * Audit my current marketing efforts and identify gaps * Build and execute a full-funnel marketing strategy (organic + paid) * Create a launch/relaunch campaign with urgency and storytelling * Develop a repeatable system for bulk orders (ideal for studios, teams, schools) * Create email marketing campaigns (I use Flodesk) * Optimize and grow my social media presence around the book * Help develop strong calls-to-action across platforms * Recommend influencer or partnership strategies (dance educators, conventions, etc.) * Analyze sales data and improve conversion rates Must-Have Skills: * Experience selling digital or educational products * Strong background in social media marketing (especially Instagram, Facebook) * Email marketing (ideally with Flodesk or similar platforms) * Funnel-building and landing page optimization * Marketing analytics and conversion tracking * Strong writing and content creation skills * Ability to think like a strategist, not just a promoter * Bonus: experience in the performing arts or youth education industries Nice-to-Have Skills: * Digital storefront optimization * Influencer collaboration and outreach * Knowledge of the dance world or convention/studio space * Experience working with creatives/performers * Ad creation and A/B testing What Success Looks Like: * Hitting or exceeding my $50,000 sales goal by the end of the year * Increased visibility and brand awareness for The Dancer’s Edge * Consistent bulk orders from studios and dance programs * A marketing system that can grow with future products (eBooks, courses, etc.) Budget:
