My name is Matthew, and I’m the founder of Twin Cities Cats, a new in-home feline grooming and care service based out of St. Paul, Minnesota. This business is being supported through Minnesota’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) as part of my self-employment plan to build something meaningful, accessible, and sustainable—not just for me, but for the community I care deeply about serving. What I Do: Twin Cities Cats is a mobile grooming service where I provide gentle, in-home cat care (nail trimming, bathing, mat removal, ear cleaning, and more). Instead of a grooming van or salon, I work directly in the client’s home—reducing the stress and trauma that can come with carriers, cars, barking dogs, or unfamiliar places. My primary clients include: Seniors (age 60+) People with disabilities Residents in assisted living, independent senior housing, or large apartment buildings Pet guardians with anxious or medically fragile cats Households without transportation or who otherwise struggle to access traditional pet services This is more than just grooming—it's about accessibility, compassion, and trust. What I Need Help With: I’m looking for a designer/developer to help me build a clean, intuitive, accessible website that reflects those values and makes it easy for people to learn about the service and schedule appointments. Here’s the scope: Website Features: 4–5 Core Pages: Home About Services Contact Optional: FAQ or Testimonials (can be added later) Booking Integration: Integration with Cal.com, my preferred scheduling platform (open source, flexible) Clients should be able to book, modify, or cancel appointments on their own Ideally includes real-time calendar and automated confirmations Accessibility (ADA Best Practices): Clear layout with high-contrast color options Screen-reader friendly Keyboard navigation support Mobile-first design and responsive layout Tone and Style: Calming, welcoming, and trustworthy Should reflect a service grounded in care, clarity, and respect Gentle branding—think “cat whisperer meets healthcare provider,” not “trendy salon” or “cutesy pet blog” Technical Considerations: Hosting is already in place (SiteGround) Domain is secured: twincities.cat WordPress is pre-installed but I’m open to switching platforms (e.g., Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, or a lightweight custom solution) if it better supports accessibility, speed, and ease of updating SEO basics should be considered (title tags, meta descriptions, mobile load speed) Ideal Collaborator: You’re experienced in web accessibility and believe in inclusive design You’re responsive and communicative, especially with clients who may be managing disabilities or unusual schedules You’re someone who values mission-driven work—you don’t just build beautiful sites, you care about what they do Experience with service-based businesses, veterinary/pet services, or health/wellness sites is a bonus Timeline & Budget: I’d like to launch by late May or early June if possible Scope is small (just a few pages and booking setup), but I want it to be clean, polished, and durable Budget is flexible but modest—this project is being supported through Vocational Rehabilitation Services, so ill need to submit pricing and define the deliverables.
