Only freelancers located in the U.S. may apply. I am seeking a children’s book illustrator for a 32-page book I’ve written about 2 young children and their whimsical imaginary bunny friend. Target Age: Read Aloud for 4 to 8 year olds. Illustrations: Likely 18 to 20 . Style: A realistic representation of the farm, children and animals with vibrant color. No cartoon characters. Expressive and whimsical depiction of the imaginary bunny. Here are the details: My highest priority is that the artwork is beautiful and captivating. The concept of this story is that the artwork captures the rural setting, the innocence of the children and the engaging farm animals that live there too. I would like the children to look like real persons, so I will provide photos. I would like each of their features to look a lot like them. My second highest priority is that the illustrations of the bunny show a cheerful whimsical personality with capacity for adventure. Creative thinking is welcome. I have pictures of the farm, the house and the fields where the stories are set. Illustrations will be a key element to telling the stories, in particular the emotions of the characters. Familiarity with farm animals would be an advantage. This is the first book in a series of 7 completed stories. If we can work together with inspiration, receptive response and a laugh, we could have a good future together. Additional requirements: - Create the storyboard with unlimited rounds until we agree on it. - This is a work-for-hire arrangement, with no licensing fees, where the final art will be owned by the client. - Three rounds of revisions per page. - Collaborative attitude towards character design and visual storytelling. Good communicator and comfortable with input and feedback. - You provide print-ready files, according to the publisher's specs - Final artwork will be delivered also in .TIF files - Time frame 4-6 weeks. - Front and back cover art included. The front cover, may utilize artwork from the interior. - Spine artwork included - ISBN and barcode to be added Text will be laid out and placed in final design.
