We’re looking for a Licensed Geotechnical Engineer (PE) to assist our engineering firm on an ongoing basis. The primary need is to review and stamp reports created by our in-house EIT, as well as provide consulting on setting up internal workflows and lab/testing equipment that allow us to confidently recommend pier foundations. Our structural team often requests design criteria such as allowable bearing capacity and pier depths, but there’s been a disconnect between geotech reporting and structural expectations. We want to streamline this internally by bringing in a PE who can: Review and professionally seal reports prepared by our EIT Recommend or validate pier depths and bearing capacity based on test results Consult on establishing our own standards and lab process to support pier recommendations Occasionally coordinate with our in-house structural P.E. to align expectations What We’re Looking For: Licensed Geotechnical PE (licensed in Texas or willing to obtain) Strong background in writing Geotechnical reports, subsurface exploration, and soil classification Familiar with expansive soils, shallow foundations, and deep foundations Experience working with or mentoring EITs is a plus Clear communicator, responsive, and proactive Work Style: Remote OK Workload: ~2–6 hours/week (project-dependent) Flexible hours with occasional scheduled calls Why Work With Us: We’re a growing engineering firm offering structural, geotechnical, civil, and surveying services. You'll be joining a knowledgeable and supportive team that values precision, collaboration, and results. If you're looking to make an impact and help shape internal geotechnical processes, we’d love to connect.
