Description: We are looking for an experienced Durable Medical Equipment (DME) expert to help us compile a comprehensive list of insurance carriers (both national and regional) that approve coverage for a wheelchair power assist device. This list will be used to create a tool that allows consumers and dealers to quickly check if the device is covered by their insurance. The expert will gather critical details about each carrier's eligibility requirements, coverage approval, and specific codes. Responsibilities : -We need an extensive list of insurance carriers, starting with the largest national carriers and then moving to regional ones to ensure maximum coverage. Your goal is to compile a list that covers as many relevant carriers as possible to maximize the chances of consumer eligibility. National Carriers: Start with the biggest, such as Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and Humana. Regional Carriers: After covering national carriers, add insurance companies that operate regionally and may be more relevant to users in specific states or areas. Quantity: Aim to provide a comprehensive list, ideally covering as many carriers as possible. The number is flexible, but we need a diverse range of options for different regions. - For each carrier, confirm: - Written confirmation of coverage for the wheelchair power assist device under a specific HCPCS code. - The specific eligibility criteria (e.g., prescription requirements, covered plans, medical conditions, age requirements, etc.). - Any regional or location-based restrictions, including cities, states, or zip codes where coverage may vary. - Plan restrictions (e.g., only certain types of plans or coverage tiers are eligible). - Provide any necessary contact information or links where the consumer or dealer can submit claims, prescriptions, other required information, and vendor details so the insurer knows who to expect the invoice from when processing the claim. We're planning to build an online tool that will streamline this process, helping users quickly determine eligibility based on their insurance carrier and wheelchair compatibility. The tool will offer links (if available) or instructions on how to submit claims directly to the insurer, allowing consumers and dealers to manage the process independently and efficiently. Deliverables: - A well-organized spreadsheet or document that includes: - Insurance carrier name. - Coverage confirmation for the power assist device (with written documentation or contact for confirmation). - Eligibility criteria (specific to each carrier). - Regional, plan, or other restrictions (if applicable). - Contact information or links for submitting claims. The data should be organized to enable the creation of an easy-to-use tool for consumers and dealers to check coverage. This tool will filter by carrier, location, and plan eligibility, displaying the device’s approval status under each carrier’s criteria. It will also provide necessary links (if available) or instructions for submitting claims, prescriptions, and vendor details to the insurer for efficient processing. Skills Required: - Extensive knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and insurance coverage processes. - Experience working with HCPCS codes and understanding the specifics of insurance claim processes. - Strong attention to detail and the ability to gather and organize complex information. - Familiarity with regional and national insurance carriers and their coverage policies for medical devices. - Excellent communication skills to confirm coverage and eligibility with insurers directly. Ideal Candidate: - Has experience working with insurance carriers to verify DME coverage. - Can navigate insurance websites, provider directories, and make calls to insurers to get necessary confirmations. - Able to deliver data in an organized format that can be easily used in a tool or page. Please apply with relevant experience and samples of similar work you’ve done in the DME field. If you have any questions about the project, feel free to ask! We look forward to working with you!
