Memorial Day 2025 Content Capture Project - Freelance Videographer/Creative Team (Washington, D.C. Local) Project Type: Contract / Project-Based Location: Washington, D.C. (on-site required) Client: Action Flag, a national flag and patriotic goods company Dates: May 23-27, 2025 (Memorial Day Weekend) Budget Range: $50-$125/hr depending on crew size, experience, and production scope About the Project Action Flag is a national flag, flagpole, and patriotic merchandise company focused on legacy, storytelling, and service. This Memorial Day, we will be attending and participating in multiple events in Washington, D.C., including: - The TAPS National Seminar (Gold Star families) - A flag and art presentation to Gold Star Spouses - Arlington National Cemetery Memorial events - The National Memorial Day Parade We are seeking a local videographer or creative production team to handle on-location filming, photography, permitting assistance, and collaborative creative planning for a short-form content campaign. This footage will support a national social/email marketing rollout, aligning with our brand's repositioning toward story-driven content. Scope of Work Creative Capture Responsibilities: - Film emotional, respectful B-roll and key moments of ceremony, presentation, and community interaction - Conduct light interviews (if possible and permitted) - Capture horizontal and vertical-friendly framing for multi-platform repurposing - Record ambient audio, event sound, and crowd interactions - (Optional) Live-streaming of select segments to Facebook/Instagram Logistics & Permitting: - Advise and help facilitate any necessary National Park Service permits (National Mall, Arlington Cemetery, etc.) - Liaise with our TAPS contacts and other relevant orgs for location access and filming approval - Ensure your team complies with all public and restricted area filming protocols Creative Coordination: - Collaborate with Action Flag’s team in advance to review tone, mission, and sample concepts - Work independently in developing the production plan for personnel, equipment, and realistic coverage options - Provide creative input on scaled vs. professional-level setups: - Lean Setup: 1-2 person crew, handheld/battery-powered gear, no location fee permitting - Full Setup: Multi-crew team, mics, tripods, drone footage, and formal location permitting Delivery Requirements: - Deliver raw footage and stills within 3-5 days - Coordinate with our digital marketing team for post-production handoff - If possible, provide sample cuts for social reels or teasers Ideal Candidate or Team - Based in Washington, D.C. or DMV area - Experienced in documentary-style, public event, or brand storytelling content - Familiar with NPS permitting and respectful coverage of high-profile or ceremonial events - Capable of working quickly and lightly with sensitivity to context - Can take initiative but is also receptive to collaborative feedback from our small leadership team How We Work: We’re a small, founder-led company with a high respect for creative collaboration.
