About Portal Portal is a B2B SaaS platform serving professional installers (think 'AV guy' or “Security Contractor”). We take a design-first approach, focusing on reducing the friction of running a professional installation company. The most popular part of Portal is our Proposal tool - Installers use Portal to create proposals for their clients (end users) and win jobs. About the Role We’re looking for a QA Engineer to own manual and automated testing for Portal’s platform, ensuring new features and releases meet the needs of our customers with minimal disruptions. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, UX and Graphic Designers, and our development team to test features, identify bugs, and build automated regression tests in Rainforest QA. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented, collaborative tester who thrives in a lean, fast-paced SaaS environment with an exciting, growing company. Responsibilities - Test New Features and Releases: Collaborate with Product Managers to manually test new features (e.g., catalog search, proposal builder) against requirements, ensuring functionality, usability, and performance for customers. - Automate Regression Testing: Build and maintain automated regression test suites in Rainforest QA to cover critical workflows (e.g., search, CRM integrations), reducing manual testing time and ensuring release stability. - Identify and Report Bugs: Document defects in Jira with clear steps to reproduce, working with developers to prioritize and resolve issues before releases. - Validate User Experience: Partner with UX and Graphic Designers to ensure UI designs (e.g., responsive layouts) meet usability standards through manual and automated tests. - Support Sprint Cycles: Participate in 2 week sprints (led by our scrum master) to provide QA feedback, verify fixes, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality features. - Improve QA Processes: Optimize testing workflows, suggest Rainforest QA best practices, and contribute to a culture of quality across the team. Qualifications - 2–4 years of QA engineering experience, ideally for SaaS or B2B software platforms. - Hands-on experience with Rainforest QA or similar automation tools (e.g., Testim, Mabl) for building regression test suites. - Proficiency in manual testing, including writing test cases and documenting bugs in tools like Jira or Trello. - Basic scripting skills (e.g., JavaScript, Python) to support test automation or troubleshoot Rainforest QA scripts. - Ability to collaborate with PMs, designers, and developers in a fast-paced environment, delivering QA results on tight sprint schedules. - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to catch edge cases and ensure a polished user experience. Bonus: Familiarity with testing responsive UIs, APIs, or CRM integrations, or experience with analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel).
