About Portal Portal is a B2B SaaS platform serving professional installers (think 'AV guy' or “Security Contractor”). We take a design-first approach, focusing on reducing the friction of running a professional installation company. The most popular part of Portal is our Proposal tool - Installers use Portal to create proposals for their clients (end users) and win jobs. About the Role We’re seeking a Senior UX Designer to own the end-to-end user experience for Portal’s platform, ensuring our UI is intuitive and efficient for integrators. You’ll design user flows, conduct research, and validate usability, working closely with our Product Managers, Graphic Designer, and development team. This is a strategic, individual contributor role, perfect for a creative problem-solver who thrives in a lean, fast-paced SaaS environment. Responsibilities - Design User Flows and Wireframes: Create low-fidelity wireframes in Figma for features (e.g., catalog search, proposal builder) based on PM requirements, ensuring intuitive user interactions. - Conduct User Research: Attend interviews and perform surveys with AV/security integratorsto understand pain points and inform UX decisions. - Run Usability Testing: Validate designs with tools like Maze or Hotjar, iterating to achieve high user satisfaction (e.g., 90% task completion). - Collaborate with Team: Work with PMs to align UX with feature goals (e.g., “Search must be fast for dealers”), Graphic Designer for high-fidelity handoffs, and developers for dev-ready designs during sprints. - Provide UX Insights: Share research findings with PMs to refine features, staying within strategic boundaries (e.g., no feature prioritization). - Support Design System: Guide the Graphic Designer in maintaining Figma component library consistency. Qualifications - 4–6 years of UX design experience, ideally for SaaS - Expert in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and design handoffs. - Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design, research, and testing for complex UIs. - Experience with user research (interviews, surveys) and usability testing tools (e.g., Maze, Hotjar, UserTesting). - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering UX iterations on 1-2 week sprint cycles. - Excellent communication to collaborate with PMs, devs, and scrum master, translating feedback into actionable designs. - Bonus: Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel) or B2B SaaS for niche markets.
