We are seeking experienced academic writers with substantial research and writing skills to create high-quality SAT Reading & Writing practice questions and explanations. All work must align with the latest College Board specifications (See attachment). Multiple writers may be hired for this project. Scope of Work: Develop a combined total of 1,080 multiple-choice questions with detailed explanations, formatted as 20 complete Digital SAT Reading & Writing sections (54 questions per section). Additionally, create: 165 Foundation-level questions 275 Medium-difficulty questions 440 Hard-difficulty questions Each question must include a detailed explanation for both correct and incorrect answer choices, maintaining consistency with College Board standards. Passages/Data All passages and visuals must follow strict sourcing standards. Writers must use real ideas but write entirely in original language — no copying or paraphrasing from prep books, articles, or copyrighted sources. Public domain and open-access content can be used for inspiration, and charts can be copied only if the source explicitly allows reuse and the chart is used in its original form. Otherwise, charts must be recreated. Attribution is required in all applicable cases. Trial Phase: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a paid trial, which will require writing five hard difficulty questions, each with explanations, covering the following knowledge testing points: Cross-Text Connections Central Ideas and Details Command of Evidence (Textual) Command of Evidence (Quantitative) Inferences Important: To ensure the appropriate level of rigor, candidates should review the College Board’s Reading & Writing Module 1 questions (see attachment), particularly questions 11, 13, 15, 16, and 18. These items are not surface-level—they require deeper inference, synthesis of ideas, evaluation of complex data, and an understanding of nuanced textual meaning. The goal is to replicate this same level of cognitive complexity and precision. Applicants must also submit their per-question rate (including explanation) along with the trial. Writers who demonstrate the strongest combination of content quality, analytical depth, and competitive pricing will be selected to continue with the project. An NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) will be required if selected to continue with the project after the trial phase. Submitting a trial or engaging in initial communications does not establish a contract. No official work agreement is in place until a milestone is activated and confirmed through the Upwork platform.
