Graphic Design Contractor for Nonprofit: Social Media, Email, Branding & More Modern Military is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that educates, advocates, and champions for the rights and well-being of LGBTQ+ service members, veterans, and their families as well as people living with HIV. We are seeking a collaborative, creative, and reliable graphic design contractor to elevate our visual communications. This is a remote, part-time contract (5–10 hours/week for 3–6 months) ideal for a designer who thrives in a flexible, purpose-driven environment and enjoys both independent work and teamwork. Key Responsibilities ● Social Media Graphics: Design engaging, platform-optimized graphics for our social channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) that align with our brand and campaign goals. ● Email Templates: Create visually compelling, mobile-friendly email templates that drive engagement and support our communication strategy. ● Branded Visuals: Develop branded visuals for blog posts, presentations (PowerPoint/Google Slides), and other digital or print collateral to ensure a consistent and professional look. ● Style Guide: Help refine or create a visual style guide to ensure cohesive branding across all materials. ● Video (Nice to Have): If skilled, assist with basic video editing or short-form video creation for social media and digital campaigns. ● Collaboration: Meet virtually at least once a week with our social media manager to plan, review, and iterate on projects. Required Skills & Experience ● Proficiency in Canva: Comfortable designing social and digital assets in Canva, including templates and collaborative projects. ● Adobe Suite Expertise: Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects for video is a plus. ● Portfolio: Demonstrated experience designing for nonprofits or mission driven organizations, social media, email, and branded content (please provide samples or a portfolio link). ● Communication: Strong communicator who can take feedback, explain design choices, and work collaboratively in a remote environment. ● Time Management: Able to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving needs. ● Mission Alignment: Genuine interest in our nonprofit’s mission and a collaborative, positive attitude. Nice to Have ● Experience with video editing or motion graphics for social media. ● Familiarity with presentation design (PowerPoint, Google Slides). ● Knowledge of digital marketing best practices for nonprofits. Position Details ● Hours: 5–10 hours per week, flexible scheduling. ● Duration: 3–6 months, with potential for extension. ● Location: 100% remote, but requires at least one weekly virtual meeting. ● Compensation: Please include your hourly rate and portfolio with your application.
