Job description About Us:Bee Terrific Media is a creative writing company founded by Terrio Jenkins, dedicated to pioneering African American light novels/ranobes - a vibrant and growing market in the world of publishing. We are passionate about crafting action-packed adventure stories, inspired by Marvel movies and anime. Our goal is to create engaging narratives that resonate with a diverse audience, covering genres from romance to horror. Writers: 1 new draft per week and 1 rewrite per week Editors: 1 chapter per week Artist: 1 full-page art (no panels) per week Instagram.com/beeterrificmedia Writer Responsibilities: Create a Gmail or regular email account (preferably Gmail) for WordPress access, where you'll write the story. Use the WordPress dashboard for access to media relevant to your story. Receive a story outline from our experienced story creator. Produce 10,000 words per month, equivalent to 10 chapters. Break each chapter into three daily posts (333 words per post) to be published every three days. Participate in weekly meetings to discuss the story's direction. Publish your posts on your assigned account within the company's blog using the series category and provided media. Set up a Fiverr/Upwork account for payment processing. Attend team meetings and training sessions, including guest trainers from various writing industries such as comics, novels, and screenwriting. Artist and Colorist Responsibilities: Artist: Must have a manga/anime style and create one black/white image per month. Colorist: Must have an anime style and color one page per month. Qualifications: For Writers:Strong passion for storytelling and a love for action/adventure stories, similar to Marvel movies. Ability to create engaging and well-structured narratives. Dedication to meeting monthly word count goals and deadlines. Openness to feedback and a willingness to collaborate with the team. While prior experience is a plus, it is not mandatory; we welcome dedicated novice storytellers. For Artists and Colorists:For Artists: Proficiency in creating manga/anime-style black and white illustrations. For Colorists: Proficiency in adding vibrant colors to manga-style illustrations. A portfolio showcasing your artistic skills is highly desirable. Ability to meet monthly art production goals and deadlines. Openness to feedback and a willingness to collaborate with the team. Transparency: The pay is 25% of a book sale. We understand this may not seem like a lot, but we want to be upfront about our current financial constraints. We are actively working to scale the company and cover operating expenses while compensating our contractors fairly. Although the workload may appear full-time due to daily posting, it may resemble a part-time job if we batch write on meeting days (breaking down writing into smaller posts). This is a contracting position, meaning it's a "work for hire." Bee Terrific Media, Terrio Jenkins LLC, and Terrio Jenkins will retain all rights to intellectual property. This practice aligns with industry standards seen in Marvel Comics and DC Comics, with the difference being our focus on novels and light novels.
