Scrappy Marketing/PR Freelancer Needed to Secure Strategic Placements for New Realtor-Focused App

We’re an early-stage startup preparing to launch a new platform built for real estate agents—a service designed to help them find clients & grow their businesses, connect with one and other, and make their lives easier. We’re looking for a scrappy, resourceful, and well-connected marketing/PR freelancer who can strategically get us in front of realtors through targeted paid placements, partnerships, or mentions in high-leverage channels—without blowing a big budget. This is an ideal role for someone who’s helped startups punch above their weight—getting coverage and traction through clever placement, strong messaging, and smart relationship-building. Key Responsibilities: Identify and pitch budget-friendly placements (newsletters, influencer shoutouts, blog posts, communities, etc.) where realtors are already paying attention. Tailor our story and value proposition to appeal to real estate professionals and consumers- helping us craft messaging that resonates and builds trust. Leverage your network or know-how to help us secure low-cost but high-impact visibility. Recommend unconventional or under-the-radar tactics to help us get early traction. Help establish early credibility and brand presence in the real estate tech space. What We’re Looking For: Someone with a scrappy, startup-friendly mindset—comfortable working with a bootstrapped budget. Experience securing cost-effective paid placements, affiliate/influencer mentions, or strategic promotions. Existing relationships or insights into where realtors spend their time online (coaching newsletters, niche publications, Facebook Groups, real estate podcast hosts, etc.). A storyteller who can position our platform in a way that builds buzz and authority. Bonus: Familiarity with launching early-stage apps or in verticals like real estate. Engagement Type: Freelance / Project-based to start This role is intended to grow into a long-term, ongoing relationship The ideal person will take the time to understand our product, audiences, and value proposition, and will work with us to strategically develop meaningful exposure and long-term brand buzz. Our Goals: Drive awareness and early adoption among forward-thinking realtors. Begin building trust and visibility in key real estate communities. Build noteworthy momentum through credible, high-impact exposure. Compensation Structure: This is a results-driven role. We're offering performance-based compensation, which may include: Flat fees per successful placement (e.g., podcast feature, newsletter, influencer shoutout, etc.) - or open to hearing how you can help. We value creativity, hustle, and results—and we’re here to reward that accordingly.
