Go to the US Treasury website look for the Daily Treasury long term rates 2000-2024 and download as much data as provided by the site. Then go to the St. Louis Federal Reserve site and download similar rate history for AA bonds. Lastly, at the St. Louis FRED find the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data and download similar rate history. Please note that on the St. Louis FRED site, you will have to adjust the start and end dates to correspond with your Daily Treasury rates in the boxes to the left of the edit graph. Once you have the correct dates click the download button and choose the Excel format. • Load all 3 databases into an Excel spreadsheet with separate tabs for each dataset. Label each tab with the type of data held. • Make a presentation to me as if I was a potential fixed-income investor who won the lottery looking to invest $5 million of my winnings. • Use the Excel tools learned in our earlier weeks, such as charts, pivot tables, mean, mode, average, and whatever you think is statistically significant. • Compare rates of US treasuries to the AA-rated bonds. • Create a chart that shows the impact of inflation by using the Consumer Price Index to see if treasuries or AA bonds beat the annual inflation rate. Put your pivot tables and charts on a separate tab, not within the datasets. Please keep all your data in one (1) Excel sheet. I will need this master sheet submitted for your final. • Use Power Point for the presentation of your findings & data. Import charts & information from your Excel sheet. • Think of me as a potential investor in your fixed-income fund. Tell me what your objective is, how you got it, and what the data is. • Do some analysis of the data mean mode, average something statistical, and tell me the risks and rewards (pros and cons) of the 2 types of investments. I expect it to be comprehensive in data and style within your Power Point. “ So here are the items to do: load data up to present date bond yield rate versus cpi chart Update power point with these two changes in mind.”
