Food Scientist Needed for chilled Ready-to-Drink Canned Matcha Drink Formulation

Hi there, I hope you are all well. We are a UK-based startup developing a range of premium canned matcha drinks. Our drinks will use real matcha, plant-based milks, and natural fruit flavours. We're targeting a chilled RTD (ready-to-drink) product with clean ingredients, great taste, and eye-catching design. We're looking for a freelance food scientist or beverage formulator to help us develop and finalise (eventually) 7 matcha drink flavours using plant-based or dairy milks - At this moment in time, we may remove a couple however this is the initial flavours we are looking at: Formulations for the following flavours (250ml per can): Mango Matcha (coconut milk) Blueberry Matcha (almond milk) Coconut Matcha (coconut milk) Strawberry Matcha (almond milk) Original Matcha (cow’s milk) Raspberry Matcha (coconut milk) Lavender Matcha (almond milk) Specifications per flavour: Ingredient list with accurate percentages Recommended processing method (e.g. pasteurisation, cold fill, UHT, HPP) pH, Brix, and shelf-life targets Nutritional estimates (calories, sugar, fats, caffeine) Allergen notes Natural flavour or stabiliser suggestions (if needed) Scale-up Notes: Prepare formulas for small batch (1L) and commercial batch (100L+) Advice for manufacturing with UK co-packers Recommendations for ingredient suppliers (especially for matcha, fruit, and milk bases) Support On: UK compliance (FSA labelling guidelines, nutrition panels) Communicating formulation with labs or co-packers Optional: Liaison with testing lab for shelf-life study Ideal Skills: Proven experience in RTD or plant-based beverage formulation Understanding of matcha and flavour balance Familiar with UK food and beverage regulations Able to work independently, quickly, and flexibly Timeline: Formulations needed within 2–4 weeks.
