Competitor Website Analyst (SEO, Content & Strategy Audit)


Job Description: We are looking for an experienced analyst to perform an in-depth, structured audit of several competitors' websites (competitors will be provided by us). This is not a general market research task but specifically a competitor benchmarking and strategic assessment exercise. Your core responsibility will be to analyze each provided competitor website and clearly present insights covering the following areas: 1. SEO Assessment: Extract and map primary and secondary keywords. Analyze meta titles, meta descriptions, headers (H1–H3), and content structure. Identify strategic backlink sources, authority indicators, and internal linking practices. Evaluate on-page optimization strategies and overall site structure from an SEO perspective. 2. Strategy Assessment: Clearly outline how each competitor positions themselves (branding, messaging, audience targeting). Identify unique selling propositions (USPs) and differentiators in their website copy and visual content. Map out strategic elements that contribute to their perceived value and market leadership. 3. Content Assessment: Evaluate content hierarchy, formats (blogs, guides, product descriptions, landing pages), and user experience. Identify the type of content used to attract, educate, and convert visitors (transactional vs informational content). Highlight notable content clusters or pillars used to establish authority. 4. Competitive Advantage Assessment: Precisely define elements that give competitors a market edge, such as distinct messaging, trust signals, customer testimonials, pricing clarity, or promotional strategies. Clearly identify and explain perceived advantages competitors leverage. 5. Product Portfolio Assessment: Provide a structured overview of each competitor's product portfolio, categorizing their main products, variations, and presentation methods. Assess the strategic logic behind product categorization, bundling, upselling/cross-selling practices. Deliverables: You will provide a clear, structured report covering each of the above five sections per competitor. Reports should be actionable, concise, and explicitly detailed, ready for internal strategy decisions. Ideal Candidate Profile: Strong experience with competitor audits, benchmarking, and competitive intelligence. Expert-level SEO knowledge (keyword analysis, backlink auditing, metadata extraction). Familiarity with SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, SimilarWeb). Proven experience analyzing competitor content strategy and extracting actionable insights. Clear, concise communication skills to present structured, actionable reports. High attention to detail and analytical precision.
