Project Overview We've built a functional web portal for legal professionals, but we know it can be significantly better. We need an experienced UI/UX expert to identify exactly what's holding back our users and provide a clear roadmap for improvement. Our desktop/web-based portal serves law firms, attorneys, and paralegals operating in the probate and guardianship bond space. The platform is currently functional and serving clients, but we're seeking expert feedback to optimize its usability, consistency, and overall user experience. We're looking for strategic thinking, not just visual polish. An NDA will be required prior to sharing access to the portal. Project Scope • Conduct a comprehensive UI/UX review of the desktop web portal • Evaluate the design for usability, aesthetic consistency, clarity of user flows, and conversion optimization • Identify pain points and areas of confusion, with a focus on legal and administrative user personas • Provide prioritized recommendations (high/medium/low impact) with estimated implementation effort for each suggestion • Suggest UI enhancements that align with best practices in web accessibility, navigation design, and responsive behavior (desktop-first, but consideration for future adaptability) • Pay particular attention to the bond application workflow and case management functions • Optional: Provide annotated screenshots, wireframes, or redesign suggestions to illustrate recommendations Budget & Timeline • Project budget range: $2,000 - $4,000 • Expected completion: 2-3 weeks from project start • Preferred start date: Within the next 2 weeks • Team availability: Our team is available for initial briefing and questions during EST business hours Ideal Candidate • Proven experience in UI/UX for web-based applications, portals, or dashboards • Strong background in B2B or professional services platforms (legal, insurance, or finance industries strongly preferred) • Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch • Strong communication skills with the ability to present both quick wins and long-term design strategies • Understanding of WCAG/accessibility guidelines and usability heuristics • Experience conducting remote usability reviews • Ability to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to project start Deliverables • A comprehensive written UI/UX review organized by screen/user journey with prioritized recommendations • Estimated implementation effort assessment for each recommendation • Annotated screenshots or design mockups (optional, if applicable) • 2 follow-up consultations included for clarifications and discussion of recommendations To Apply Please include: • Your approach: Brief statement on how you conduct UI/UX reviews for professional platforms • Relevant examples: 2-3 specific examples of UI/UX improvements you've made to similar B2B platforms and their measurable impact • Process details: Describe your process for conducting remote usability reviews • Portfolio: Examples of previous reviews or redesigns of web portals or dashboards • Timeline and rate: Your estimated timeline and rate for this project • NDA confirmation: Confirmation that you're able to sign an NDA prior to beginning the project Next Steps We're committed to finding the right design partner who can help elevate our portal's user experience. Selected candidates will be invited to a brief discovery call before final selection. We look forward to collaborating with a thoughtful design expert who can help take our portal's user experience to the next level.
