We’re building a progressive web app (PWA) for a "Patent pending" coordination training device used in rehabilitation and human performance. The current prototype was developed in Visual Studio with C#, and now we’re transitioning to a browser-based interface. You’ll be working directly with a biomedical engineer, a movement researcher (me), and the original engineer who built the MVP. This project is highly structured. The system logic, training flow, scoring model, and user interaction sequences have already been defined. You’ll be working from a clear spec with support from our internal team. We’re looking for a developer who not only has the right technical skillset but is also interested in building something with meaningful real-world impact—particularly in areas like rehabilitation, coordination training, and motor recovery. While the immediate focus is on building a stable, browser-based interface, we are planning future integration of AI-driven features such as adaptive difficulty, personalized feedback, and performance prediction. We’re looking for a developer who can structure the app with clean, modular logic and proper data logging to support this evolution. Responsibilities include: – Building a production-grade, installable PWA from scratch – Porting logic from the original C# desktop app – Communicating with the hardware device via Web Bluetooth, Web Serial, or equivalent browser APIs – Creating a clean, minimal user interface designed for clinical and research use – Implementing session configuration options (mode selection, limb inputs, timing, thresholds) – Displaying session data, scores, and training levels clearly and reliably – Supporting data export (CSV or JSON) for research and analysis – Working in GitHub (Business account with repo collaboration already set up) and following best practices for version control and documentation You should have experience with: – Building progressive web apps from scratch – Integrating sensors or external devices with browser-based interfaces – Web Bluetooth, Web Serial, or related low-level communication protocols – UX and interface design for technical or clinical applications – GitHub collaboration and asynchronous workflows – Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code Timeline: This is a 3-month project for Version 1.0. If it goes well, there’s an opportunity for ongoing development and feature expansion. Budget: $7,500 fixed price for the full build To apply: Please share links to previous PWA or browser-based projects involving hardware or sensor integration, along with your GitHub or portfolio. Briefly describe your experience working with device communication in the browser—especially if it involved Web Bluetooth, Web Serial, or similar protocols. If you’ve designed systems with future AI or data science integration in mind, let us know—this will become relevant in later phases. And if the idea of contributing to meaningful work in motor training, rehabilitation, or coordination research resonates with you, we’d like to hear that too. We're looking for someone who cares about what they're building.
