Community Manager for Growing Fitness App (iOS)


We’re looking for a proactive and passionate Community Manager to help grow and engage the community around our iOS app, Srama. About Srama: Srama is a new and growing nutrition tracking app that helps people lose weight by staying in a consistent calorie deficit. We currently have a small but dedicated community — around 500 followers on Instagram and several hundred users in the app — and we’re ready to take things to the next level with your help. Your Mission: Build a thriving, supportive, and engaged community of users who are passionate about sustainable weight loss and the science behind calorie deficit. You’ll foster meaningful connections, encourage sharing, and help create an environment where members feel motivated and supported. Key Responsibilities: • Build and grow our presence on Facebook and Reddit by creating engaging spaces for discussion about Srama and long-term weight loss through calorie deficit. • Spark conversations, answer questions, and encourage user participation within the community. • Onboard new members and guide them on how to get the most out of Srama and their calorie deficit journey. • Connect users with similar goals, challenges, and backgrounds to build peer support. • Encourage users to share progress, wins, and struggles — and help surface insights, trends, or issues they’re experiencing. • Collaborate with our UX researcher to coordinate focus groups and gather product feedback. • Actively engage with related communities across Facebook and Reddit to build awareness and bring new users to Srama. • Highlight success stories and community milestones through our Instagram channel. What We’re Looking For: • Proven experience in building, managing, and growing online communities (Facebook, Reddit, Discord, etc.) • A background in fitness, nutrition, and a basic understanding of the calorie deficit concept. • Strong communication skills and a people-first mindset. • Comfortable creating conversations and promoting content on social media. • Experience working with early-stage apps or startups is a bonus.
