Job Description: Cultural Norms Annotator (Pilot Study) We are seeking a detail-oriented and culturally aware annotator for a pilot study focused on reviewing AI-extracted cultural norms from TV show video clips. In this role, you will assess the accuracy of AI-generated cultural norms and make corrections where necessary, ensuring that the AI accurately reflects cultural expectations and behaviors. Key Responsibilities: Review and assess AI-extracted cultural norms based on video clips from TV shows. Edit default answers, select the correct social norm categories, and provide justifications for any changes made. Provide feedback on the accuracy and relevance of cultural norms, with a focus on American culture. Participate in a pilot study, which will involve reviewing 10 cultural norms. Qualifications: Applicants must be monocultural, with a strong background in American culture and social norms. Strong understanding of American cultural norms and social expectations. Ability to critically evaluate and assess AI-generated content. Experience with annotation tools and platforms is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Clear communication skills to justify edits and feedback in a concise and meaningful way. Willingness to participate in a pilot study and provide valuable insights to refine the AI’s understanding of cultural norms. Additional Information: This task is part of a pilot study, so the current workload will focus on just 10 norms. The interface currently emphasizes American cultural contexts, so we expect annotators to have a deep understanding of American culture.
