Job Title: Databricks Architect Location: Remote Type: Contract or Full-Time Reports to: Head of Data, ML & AI About Us We are a Databricks Partner focused on Data, Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) services. Our goal is to help businesses modernize their data platforms, leverage advanced analytics, and implement scalable AI solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Databricks Architect to play a critical role in pre-sales, solution architecture, and project execution. This role will involve working directly with customers, defining project scopes, estimating implementations, and guiding data engineers during project execution. This position is available as either a contract or full-time opportunity based on experience and preference. Job Overview As a Databricks Architect, you will be responsible for engaging with customers, designing data-driven solutions, and providing hands-on technical leadership. You will work closely with sales teams, customers, and internal engineering teams to develop Lakehouse architectures, big data platforms, and AI-powered analytics using Databricks. This is a client-facing role that requires expertise in data engineering, ML/AI workloads, and Databricks best practices, along with pre-sales experience to scope and estimate projects. Key Responsibilities Pre-Sales & Solution Architecture Engage with customers to understand business challenges, define data strategy, and assess technical requirements. Design scalable, high-performance data solutions using Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow. Develop and deliver technical presentations, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and solution proposals for customers. Collaborate with sales and business development teams to scope, estimate, and propose data and AI projects. Identify opportunities to integrate ML/AI solutions within Databricks-based architectures. Project Execution & Technical Leadership Act as the technical lead for Databricks implementations, guiding data engineers through architecture, development, and deployment phases. Provide hands-on support for data pipeline optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Ensure best practices in security, data governance, and compliance within Databricks environments. Work with MLOps teams to deploy machine learning models at scale using Databricks. Implement data automation and orchestration pipelines to streamline data processing and analytics workflows. Partnership & Innovation Stay up to date with Databricks roadmap, new features, and best practices to drive innovation. Work closely with Databricks partner teams to leverage partner incentives and funding programs. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, training sessions, and mentoring junior team members. Qualifications & Requirements ✅ Must-Have: 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or AI/ML solutions, with a focus on big data and analytics. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks, including Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow. Databricks Certifications (Mandatory): Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate (or higher) Databricks Certified Solutions Architect Expertise in cloud-agnostic data architectures, with experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark-based frameworks for data engineering and AI/ML applications. Experience in pre-sales, solution scoping, and technical estimations for data and AI projects. Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices. Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging both technical and business stakeholders. ✅ Nice-to-Have: Additional Databricks Certifications (Machine Learning, SQL Analyst, etc.). Experience with Lakehouse Architecture and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). Experience with real-time streaming data architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hub). Familiarity with AI/ML workloads and MLOps within Databricks. Background in consulting or client-facing roles, demonstrating strong relationship-building skills.
