We are building a dynamic art agent business that represents emerging and established visual artists, connecting them with galleries, collectors, collaborators, and commercial opportunities. The ideal candidate will lead business development, artist relations, and partnership strategy to grow the agency’s profile and impact in the art world. Key Responsibilities: Business Development • Identify and pursue strategic opportunities with galleries, institutions, brands, and collectors. • Develop a pipeline of artist services including commissions, licensing, events, and exhibitions. • Build systems for outreach, tracking, and deal management. • Artist Representation & Talent Management • Recruit and manage a roster of visual artists aligned with the agency’s mission and aesthetic. • Support artists in building portfolios, pricing work, preparing for shows, and negotiating contracts. • Offer creative career guidance and support for long-term artist growth. Marketing & Promotion • Craft compelling narratives and visual materials to promote artists and agency services. • Build relationships with art writers, curators, influencers, and media outlets. • Oversee website content, social media, newsletters, and press campaigns. Operations & Infrastructure • Establish and refine internal systems for sales, inventory, and client management. • Set up legal, financial, and logistical frameworks for art sales and partnerships. • Track KPIs and report on growth metrics, deal flow, and artist satisfaction. Skills & Qualifications: • Background in arts administration, gallery sales, artist management, or creative business development. • Strong understanding of the contemporary art market and emerging trends. • Relationship-driven and entrepreneurial, with excellent communication skills. • Comfortable negotiating deals and navigating contracts. • Ability to manage multiple projects, artists, and timelines simultaneously. Preferred Experience (but not required): • Connections in the gallery, collector, or art fair circuits. • Knowledge of licensing, print sales, or digital art platforms. Compensation: Negotiable – may include base + commission, or performance bonuses.
