IT Administrator for Small Healthcare Products Company


IT Administrator Position Overview We are seeking an experienced IT Administrator to provide on-demand support for our small healthcare products company with 10-15 users. This role will serve as our primary point of contact for all IT-related matters. About Us We are a small healthcare products company with 10-15 users requiring dedicated IT support. Our business relies on secure and reliable technology infrastructure to maintain compliance and operational efficiency in the pharmaceutical and med device sector. Key Responsibilities - Respond to and resolve IT support tickets in a timely manner - Manage and maintain our Microsoft Office 365 environment - Administer Azure AD and implement best practices for identity management - Handle user management including onboarding and offboarding processes - Manage Microsoft 365 licenses and optimize license allocation - Monitor Microsoft Defender and other security solutions - Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures - Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans - Develop and enforce security policies and procedures - Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues - Implement security best practices and ensure data protection - Perform regular system maintenance and updates - Document IT processes and configurations - Coordinate with vendors when necessary Additional Responsibilities - Assist with commissioning new hardware when needed (not necessary, but nice to have) - Create and maintain documentation for IT systems and processes - Ensure proper access controls are implemented across all systems - Provide recommendations for technology improvements and upgrades - Establish and maintain secure remote access solutions for staff Cybersecurity Responsibilities - Proactively monitor Microsoft Defender and any other pertinent systems for potential security threats - Implement cybersecurity improvements and best practices - Configure and maintain Azure AD security features including Conditional Access - Respond to and mitigate security incidents - Keep systems patched and updated to address security vulnerabilities - Provide security awareness training to staff - Maintain compliance with relevant security standards and pharmaceutical industry regulations - Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans Requirements - Proven experience as an IT Administrator or similar role - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 ecosystem and Azure AD - Experience with user lifecycle management (onboarding, offboarding, license assignments) - Experience with cybersecurity tools and practices, particularly Microsoft Defender - Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft server technologies - Understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting - Knowledge of IT security best practices and threat mitigation - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills - Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff - Availability to respond to support tickets within agreed SLAs - Experience supporting small business environments (10-20 users) Preferred Qualifications - Microsoft certifications (Microsoft 365 Certified, Azure Administrator, etc.) - Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, etc.) - Experience with cloud services management - Background in supporting small to medium-sized businesses - Experience with hardware procurement and setup - Familiarity with remote support tools - Experience in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, healthcare, etc.) Work Arrangement This is a contracted position where services will be provided on an as-needed basis. We are open to various contract structures proposed by candidates, including: - Hourly billing - Monthly retainer with set service hours - Project-based billing - Tiered support packages The successful candidate will: - Be available to respond to support tickets within agreed timeframes - Serve as our dedicated point of contact for all IT matters - Provide remote support with occasional on-site visits as required (if ever) - Propose a contract arrangement that best suits both parties' needs If you are a detail-oriented IT professional with strong expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and cybersecurity practices who enjoys providing solutions in a flexible work arrangement for a small team, we encourage you to apply.
