We are hiring an experienced Database Architect and Scalability Specialist to complete a critical project: designing and implementing a scalable backend architecture within a strict two-week timeframe. This role is task-based, and you will be supported by our internal engineering team throughout the project. Reason for Hire: As a promising startup anticipating growth in user engagement and data volume, we require specialized expertise to ensure our system architecture efficiently scales to support this growth. Immediate Task (2 Weeks): Architecture Design & Implementation: Design and deploy a highly scalable and robust backend system architecture capable of efficiently managing increasing user load and data transactions. Database Optimization: Select, configure, and optimize structured (SQL) and unstructured (NoSQL) database solutions, focusing on reliability, speed, and scalability. Performance & Load Management: Implement appropriate caching, load balancing, and resource management strategies to ensure high availability and performance during increased usage. Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer: Work closely with our internal engineers, clearly document your architecture choices, and provide a smooth transition for ongoing maintenance. Qualifications: Proven experience (5+ years) in scalable backend and database architecture. Strong proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, Digital Ocean). Extensive expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Amazon RDS). Demonstrated ability to complete time-sensitive tasks efficiently. Familiarity with best practices in scalability, DevOps, and API performance. Preferred: Previous experience working with startups or early-stage technology platforms. Demonstrated experience successfully scaling backend systems and databases to support rapid data and user volume growth.
