We are looking for a Kafka expert with deep experience in Apache Kafka, Strimzi, and Kubernetes to join our team as a full-time freelancer. Within four weeks of hiring, you will be expected to work exclusively with us, fully dedicated to managing and optimizing our real-time data infrastructure. We need someone who understands Kafka inside and out—not just how to use it, but how to design, scale, and troubleshoot it at a deep level. You should have experience deploying and managing Kafka clusters in Kubernetes using Strimzi, working with Kafka Streams and KSQL, and securing Kafka with authentication, authorization, and encryption. Performance optimization is key, so you should know how to fine-tune Kafka for high-scale, high-throughput systems. Beyond Kafka, experience with Java or Python is a must, as many engineers struggle with even the basics of creating a Kafka consumer or producer. You should also have experience integrating Kafka with various data sources using Kafka Connect and be comfortable working in cloud environments, particularly AWS. A strong background in Kubernetes, Docker, and monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or the ELK stack would be highly valuable. We are looking for someone with at least five years of hands-on experience running Kafka in production. A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but what matters most is your ability to design and maintain large-scale Kafka deployments. This is a full-time freelance role, requiring at least 40 hours per week. After four weeks, you will transition into an exclusive engagement with us. If you are a Kafka expert who knows Strimzi inside-out and can architect and optimize complex Kafka infrastructures, we’d love to hear from you. To apply, send us a detailed summary of your Kafka experience, examples of large-scale Kafka deployments you've worked on, and your availability to transition to full-time exclusive work within four weeks. Let’s talk!
