Description: We are seeking a highly skilled IT Technician or System Administrator with demonstrated experience supporting government agencies or public sector contracts. This is a remote, contract-based position with potential for ongoing work depending on performance and project alignment. Responsibilities: • Provide day-to-day IT support for end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. • Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy. • Configure and support VPNs, firewalls, and endpoint protection tools in compliance with government security standards. • Perform system updates, backups, and patch management regularly. • Ensure compliance with applicable government IT policies and security frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, CJIS, FedRAMP). • Support user onboarding/offboarding, email setup, access rights, and device provisioning. • Assist with documentation of procedures, configurations, and asset tracking. Requirements: • Proven experience providing IT support for federal, state, or local government contracts (please specify which agencies). • Strong knowledge of Windows environments (desktop and server), Office 365, and common IT infrastructure tools. • Familiarity with compliance standards such as NIST, FISMA, CJIS, or FedRAMP. • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work on U.S. government contracts (if applicable). Nice to Have: • Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Jira. • Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, etc.) • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) in a government context.
